Students are excited to begin using our makerspace, and I am excited to see what they can create! While the space is widely used for its technology and STEM features, I would like to make the space even more inclusive and invite those creative students to take part in the fun. The materials I chose are easy to use in small amounts of time while still giving students room to shine. Whether it is Legos, chess, origami, or other forms of art, students should find a way to think outside the box and be able to express themselves! The collaborative posters have already been a hit in the past, so I'm excited to have them try out the collaborative color posters! The library is a one stop shop, and it's fun to see the kids get excited to contribute to art, literature, and science. Who knows what they'll be able to create with some recycled goods and colorful sheets of construction paper! The storage bins will also make the supplies easy to access and easy to refill. After this heavy year, having a safe space to be creative could be a great outlet for learning and showing new strengths.
