Teaching science requires my students to see whole class work and step-by-step examples of different interactive journal questions and applications that we do. We do these applications together as a class and my example is under the document camera. The camera we are currently using is very old, will not focus correctly, the coloring is incorrect, and the cord is held in the back of the camera with electrical tape at the moment. I use my document camera every single day for my lessons, my interactive pages, and to present to the whole class. Together we build interactive science journals where I use my document camera so that the all students can see what we are working on and we can do it together. This will be an amazing resource for my students. My students will have a clear picture of what is expected, be able to see what I am showing them, and will also be able to follow along much more efficiently. Document cameras enable teachers to show students what and how to apply it to our interactive journal. Document cameras are a great tool the bridge the gap between conceptual and concrete learning. Having a classroom laminator will enable us to protect and keep student projects that they work so hard on and the projects that we create during the holidays. Laminating them for the students would have made them a keepsake. A classroom laminator will enable me to laminate different instructional resources such as eclipse posters, moon phase models, and food web posters that we use in our lessons. COVID has been hard on us all and especially the children, so being able to create fun projects like our Christmas tree ornaments is one way I try to continue helping with their social-emotional development and learning.
