The materials that I am requesting for my students to use campus wide already have the perfect place at our school. We have two counselors on our campus and we will be sharing these resources to use with all grade levels (Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade). We just need a little assistance to help purchase all of the resources we need to help guide our students make better emotional/social decisions. All of the books “Little Spots” by Diane Alber have a specific topic that relates to the social emotional learning of students. The students will benefit and learn the following skills: builds confidence, conversation, knowledge, builds bonds, and creativity. These books also have a built in social emotional learning which consists of self-management, self awareness, responsible decision making, social awareness and relationship skills. The author has a great website for additional resources for teachers and counselors which includes, videos of the author reading aloud to students and many more. I feel it is essential for us to teach these valuable skills to all of our students. This being said I feel that donations to this project will help provide the tools and skills they need to develop their social emotional learning development in school. By implementing the “Little Spot” books by Diane Abler, our students will begin to see themselves in a more positive light. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of developing their emotional social learning along with developing positive relationships with others. As the counselor, I have done extensive research and reading on “Little Spots” series in the primary grades. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
