Hello everyone! I teach a 1:15 self contained classroom. I have 15 students all with diverse needs. We show up each day eager to learn but there are times when the fluorescent lights can be quite bothersome to my students especially those with autism. Fluorescent lights can enhance students anxiety along with headaches and cause the inability to focus. I am wanting to get these light covers so that it may keep the atmosphere of the classroom calming to my students and keep them from becoming overstimulated. My students love the ocean and watching dolphins, sea turtles, and all the colorful fish. Therefore, I chose the light covers that interest them making the classroom and more exciting place. I also chose some other sensory items because my students are always sensory seeking and we do not have the fidgets and things to keep my students calm.
