These materials I am requesting will help me continue learning about having a diverse and anti-bias classroom. The children will be able to "see themselves" in the materials so they understand that everyone is important. Learning about similarities and differences in ourselves and others encourages teamwork and solidarity in the classroom. Accepting and understanding others in the early childhood classroom builds the foundation for a kinder, more compassionate future. Using diverse texts, dolls, and dramatic play items will promote expressive language and communication skills, and make the students feel empowered to use their voice in play.
