Do you remember sitting in school on a cold, hard chair forced to be still for 6 hours a day? I do, and I know it didn't make me think school was fun. This is especially true now that diagnoses like ADHD and Austism Spectrum Disorder is becoming more prevalent. My students come in with a variety of learning challenges, and I have noticed that one thing that always helps them is giving them choices wherever possible. My ADHD students in particular get distracted easily and need options so that they can create their ideal learning environment. These options will give them independence and teach them about their individual learning preferences! I can already picture the smiles on their faces when they see these seating options. Help me take away the image of school being so rigid and boring!
