Read-alouds like, "The Cool Bean", "The Koala Who Could" and "Snippets" are just a few examples of books that will hold student's attention and become invaluable instructional materials which have positive effects on both their attitudes and achievement. Even during virtual instruction last spring, I recorded daily read-alouds because I believe they hold important life lessons and expand student learning beyond the classroom. I intentionally select books to enhance student learning, extend vocabulary, spark ideas and interests, and introduce engaging, diverse characters. I use read-alouds everyday because they appeal to my students, build a positive classroom community and promote their passion for reading!
