The furniture I am requesting will provide a much needed relief to my students after a hard year of Virtual Learning. A classroom with flexible seating empowers students, helps students become more engaged, and leads to a very student centered classroom. After many months of learning online, I would like my students to feel not only supported in their classroom, but also comforted by their classroom. Currently we do have some flexible seating options in our classroom. I have seen the difference it has made in their attitudes and their engagement. They feel like our classroom is a home where they can have a say and where their opinions matter. The engagement level has increased, because it has now become about their needs and what works best for them. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive A classroom with flexible seating is the perfect place to foster children's learning and social emotional skills. I have seen how choosing an environment like this helps students feel like their classroom is another home where they feel valued. This project will enrich our classroom even more and have a positive impact on all of my students.
