Currently, the music stands we have are worn from being used so much in class. They require constant adjusting and repair in order for them to stay standing throughout an hour-long rehearsal. New music stands would allow students to stop focusing on their music stands and be able to focus on their music. Not only is the problem annoying, but there have also been several close calls with the music stands nearly toppling over onto a student, or into an instrument. I would like to avoid any injuries to students or their instruments and give students the chance to have an uninterrupted rehearsal over the course of a class period without worrying about the status of our music stands.
