Our school has only recently implemented 1:1 technology for students because of the Covid Epidemic. The Chromebooks are greatly appreciated. Students need to be able to reliably use the technology without disturbing others. That is where the headphones become invaluable. Sadly, many of our students are unable to afford their own headphones and the inexpensive ones they do bring do not hold up under daily use. We use the technology daily to access reading, math videos, our District learning modules... They are also required for the mandated testing that takes place online. The inferior quality headphones really become an issue at that point. It is a great comfort to my students to be able to use equipment that is comparative to their fellow students without being made to feel the weight of their financial situations putting them at a disadvantage. These are a pretty basic tool and shouldn't be a stumbling block or a source of embarassment. The bouncy bands are a request that comes from my frustration with small classrooms and the lack of storage space for things like wobble stools and bouncy balls. I have experimented and this version seems to hold up better and make less noise. They allow students some flexibility of motion to work out their fidgets, without being too obvious and becoming a storage issue. My only problem is that they all seem to want them.
