I am requesting a literacy comfy couch listening center for our new literacy centers which are essentials to my students' learning in my classroom. My students often struggle with language and literacy skills in my classroom. Since the pandemic hit our school and community, my students are at more of a risk for educational failure. The trauma and outpouring of help are critical during this time of rebuilding. My students will need extra support to build language and literacy skills.
My students will be able to build letters, build language, build structures, conversations, and friendships.
I work in a Title I school. I work with students who are "at-risk" for educational failure. Often times my families do not have resources for the students.
The donation of this project will help my students stay engaged and focused on learning.
Imagine thousands of children coming to school that do not know what the letter A looks like. How are they supposed to succeed in our society when they lack the basic knowledge of letters, sounds, and communication especially now after the pandemic hit our area. Literacy in America is a struggle, I need your help to fix it.
