2nd grade is a pivotal time in a student's education. They are now reading to learn and becoming more independent as they solve math problems. I want to help that independence grow in a unique and exciting manner. Room transformations will allow my students to work on the skills they've learned in math by transforming our normal classroom environment into something totally different. Students will work out math problems in a surgical setting wearing face masks, gloves, and surgical hats. They will review for their tests at a neon glow party. Students will follow the clues left to solve addition and subtraction problems and solve the case. I hope that by transforming our classroom into an operating room, a detective agency, and a glowing learning environment that they will be excited to come to school and even more excited to show me what they have learned.
