I teach pre-k which as many of you know it's all about learning through play. Every theme and topic we learn about we place related hands on materials in the centers that can help them explore that topic. Phonics for pre-k is very difficult and having hands-on concrete objects can help them better learn. Hands-on learning has been proven to be more engaging and help students better retain information. The same for math, I can use the manipulatives for counting, sorting, and patterning. The last of my stuff is for my block center. The students will be using archs and ramps to explore force and motion through play.
