We will use our ukuleles in the classroom. Music is beneficial for students with autism. Students get to express their emotions and feelings through music. It can be soothing and therapeutic as well as help with development. The Ukulele is useful for fine motor control when picking or strumming. You can also work on gross motor control. The Ukulele is also great for working on eye-hand coordination. Playing instruments together with other students will work on social skills and build confidence. A Ukulele produces a bright and happy sound perfect to create a nurturing musical environment.
