I will be moving to first grade next year and need some new materials for this endeavor! My class needs a trade book library to work in tandem with Rooted in Reading, an amazing program that I have found a great deal of success using! This project is pretty cool because we will not only be meeting a need that has a gap as of now, but we will also be adding to our literature library, which will also benefit every kiddo! some of the books we will be asking for are Thunder Underground by Jane Yolen and Chameleons are Cool by Martin Jenkins. Using authentic literature with our students while teaching reading and growing those literacy roots is so very important.

About my class
