The products on my list will be used for book clubs in my 7th grade classroom. I have found that putting students in smaller groups of 3-4 and letting them really TALK about what they are reading allows them to really get into it and love reading, and they end up learning way more than they realize. Students who are never successful independently can be successful in book club groups. Many kids don't like to read because they haven't been exposed to the right book yet. The books on this list are current, popular, and appeal to a wide range of students. I chose some of the books that were popular as independent reading books this year. Books that would make great book club books if I had enough copies. The art supplies are on the list, so that students can create one-pagers to help display what they have learned from their books and encourage others to read the same books. No matter how many recommendations an adult can give, students always listen to the advice of their peers more, and these supplies will help encourage even more reading.
