We are always looking to offer diverse, creative, and progressive career path goals to all our students, especially since so many of them have been ostracized by traditional systems. This is why we would like to start an eSports team on our campus. We embrace the values of service, leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability, which can all be further developed with the mentorship and healthy competition provided by an eSports program. Beyond the screen, students will be able to earn scholarships through competitions and along the way develop interpersonal skills for the real world. We are pioneering this team from the ground up and like all new ventures we need to establish a solid foundation for our students. Fortunately, we already have a location for our team to call home, but we currently do not have access to the equipment needed. In order to be able to participate in the tournaments we need gaming desktops that will be able to support various games that students can participate in to earn scholarships year round while also providing them career paths to venture into coding and game design. I hope you can help us meet our goal, but most importantly provide our students with opportunities. Our team is requesting three monitors, headsets, keyboards and mice. While starting an eSports team will be costly upfront, the annual costs are more manageable as most of the games that we will be participating are free to play. We also have been fortunate enough to receive support from the High School eSports League which is providing us with free and reduced tournament fees.
