Jacqueline Kennedy once said that “There are many little ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all.” This quote is the ultimate goal I have for writing this project. My students have been unsuccessful with reading. My hope is by using this digital platform, my students will be introduced to a whole new world of learning that will encourage them to become lifelong readers. My students are currently receiving face-to-face and virtual instruction during the pandemic. which makes this digital resource indispensable in meeting the need of all my students no matter where they are receiving curriculum instruction. Trying to engage students both at home and at school during the pandemic is very challenging with most educators. The Near Pod digital media has built-in tools that engage students with interactive activities and images that guide them through instructions at their pace and learning style. The program has built-in features where students can interact with me both at home and school while learning. Students can also respond anonymously to alleviate any shame or embarrassment if the students are afraid of taking a risk. This resource would be ideal for my students because it is nonjudgmental and will help level the playing field.
