Providing my students with a variety of new and classic novels will help me give a meaningful reading experience in my classroom. Most of my students DREAD reading due to their struggles. I have completed Harry Potter units with them which they had a blast, but it is not something I would like to do every year. This project would help me to provide a class set of novels for them to read and to help find something they will look forward to in class. My students perform below grade-level and need intensive reading interventions, providing these novels can help me get them closer to grade-level and keep up with their peers. This project will also help me promote self-confidence while improving their reading skills. My goal is to complete two novels within a school year.
