Choice is a pivotal part when it comes to any reading. I want to give my students as many possibilities to grow their skills in reading but to also find books and genres they would not usually pick to fall in love with. My students will get the chance to pick from a plethora of modern retellings of the classic fairytales; including Snow White, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and several others! I would like to have multiple copies in order to create effective literature circles that capture the students attention as well as challenge them. Reading is a crucial skill to have in life and loving it while doing it is a type of happiness that can never be taken from away. My students will benefit from this project by connecting the stories they've heard 100 times to the current climate of the world they are living in--thereby getting the opportunity to connect to these classic stories on a whole new level!
