We currently have very old and flat mats with rips in them. They just are not safe. Due to Covid Policy we need more mats to keep students spaced out. The old mats cannot be used safely to teach body management and gymnastic content. All students love this unit because they get the freedom to move their body. The lessons build on each other. At the end of the unit students create their own floor routine. Some students will choose a song to dance to. All students including the males are very engaged. At my former school we had a few boys join a gymnastics center because they loved this unit so much. All three boys now compete competitively!
