My students will use the materials provided to keep a daily emotional feelings journal to better learn to express themselves appropriately. With the instruction of teacher and staff, students will learn how to better understand and work through their emotions. Weekly, these students will meet with an art teacher and use their sketchbooks and colored pencils to create their drawings on paper, that they create in their minds while listening to relaxing music and sounds. My students are mild/mod and suffer from a variety of emotional disturbances, therefore, using art to express themselves can help them better understand their feelings and learn to better control and cope.
