In addition, these books will help inspire a love for reading, not only in English but in their native language as well. We have a classroom library in each of our ESL classrooms for students to read. Our student population is very diverse and our students often wish to see themselves represented in our materials. Representing different cultures allows children to have a sense of belonging which in turn, fosters a love for learning. Having these books will allow the children to remain connected to their cultures even when in a different environment.
