Books help kids develop language skills and expand their vocabulary. By contributing to our speech library, you are assisting in our goal to expand language skills that the students will carry on across their lifespan. You are also providing me with a variety of selections so that I can choose books based on the children's interests. I love to incorporate books into speech sessions in order to build communication skills, but also to foster a love of reading! In our speech sessions, we use 1 book per week in order to gain lots of exposure to the vocabulary. The repetition provides more opportunities to learn. By using books, students are more engaged and have additional opportunities to carry over their goal work.
