My students are just learning to walk well. When children don't get the help they need to learn physical skills, many never fully master gross (large muscle)motor skills. They need items in the classroom and outside to help develop their gross motor skills(running, catching, throwing, climbing). With items from this list, they can play with classmates and develop these skills. Acquiring motor skills share connections with other physical functions and age appropriate developmental milestones. They need lots of opportunities to practice movement. Learning to control their bodies and manipulation of different toys; helps them gain confidence and get physical exercise in the process. Plus it's just FUN!
