I am hoping to receive two alto xylophones to help build my classroom instrument options. These particular instruments are wonderful for elementary students to explore, create, and share musical elements we are learning. Since music is a universal language, my students with a language barrier because English is their second language are able to participate on an equal level as their peers, giving them confidence and helping them be proud of what they can accomplish. I will be able to allow more students to play the xylophones, which they are always excited to do. Right now, I have 4 alto xylophones which students can share, two on each one. I often have to break up the class into groups in which some get to play and others do not, and due to the schedule I have, sometimes I don't get to swap groups. Being able to allow more students to play will certainly make them happy!
