Financial literacy and counting money has been a difficult skill for my students to grasp. Early learners especially benefit from hands-on experiences. Using concrete items to "buy" goods and "spend" money will help my second graders gain a conceptual understanding of finances. This Financial Literacy Kit will provide my students with a real-life simulation of grocery shopping, spending and saving. Too often, our students are not getting enough exposure to finance and economics, leading them to have poor spending habits later in life. Help me, help the leaders of tomorrow, succeed today!
