In my position of work, there are many students who benefit from sensory-style seating. Usually you see students rocking back and forth on chairs not meant for rocking, they will lean forward on the front two legs of the chair, or lean back on the back two legs. With these other seating options, it allows students a safe way to move and sit without being worried of breaking or failing out of the chairs. Providing flexible seating options gives students who require movement while they work the opportunity to move in a safe way that is minimally distracting.
