Our first graders are creative kiddos who will find infinite uses for their dot markers, magnetic letters, magnetics, and dry erase circles. The students will use their carpet spots as a way to have a choice and ownership over things in our classroom to make them truly feel like it is home, and they are an important part of classroom community! Kiddos often come to the front board to model for their peers different ways of thinking, opinions, or practice a skill. This would be a time where our large eraser could be used to clean up our board quickly and enjoyably!
I can already see it now! Our students will use their individual "just right" books in their individual mesh bags. These "just right' books will serve as independent readers, small groups readers, and more!
With around 50 students in our class, there are many varying reading levels. Our students truly enjoy knowing there are books that were supplied specifically for them! Individualized items and supplies is so important to our students at this time!
Our storage cubes will be used as book bins to house all of our wonderful donated books from previous teachers. The small storage crates will be used to house chapter books for all our growing readers. The large storage containers will be used to store student supplies for upcoming units, art, and many other things! Our students are all so unique and I know they truly appreciate individualized supplies!
