This classroom library will allow me to get relevant and high-interest books into the hands of my students. These books will help students engage again in reading and learning. I also want to promote conversations and discussions about important societal topics and help foster independent thinking and discussion. These high-interest topics and opportunities for choice will allow students to share diverse perspectives and learn about each other's very different backgrounds and individuality. Ultimately, I believe this will be a shift in school culture and the texts that my students are used to having shoved in their hands.

About my class
