We are opening up a new school building in the fall and I have a designated room that we will utilize as a "Calm Room" or "Social-Emotional Center." This space will be a place for all students to take a break when they are experiencing big emotions, connect with friends to discuss social challenges, practice mindfulness and learn about social-emotional skills and tools. My students need a safe space that can rely on as a place to retreat to when feeling overwhelmed. I currently have furniture for this space, but we are in need of supplies and materials for the students to use. I'm looking for support with art, sensory and calming tools.
