These materials will help make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them a safe space to reconnect with themselves. The high school schedule can be overwhelming and this project would allow my students to have an opportunity to take a step away when needed to relieve stress and practice mindfulness. This would also allow my students time after an assignment or assessment to regroup and either color, receive encouragement that they might need, or just take a moment to simply refresh. Having sensory materials in the classroom will address social and emotional learning. I have always wanted to bring this corner to life in my classroom and I am so excited for this opportunity to do so.

About my class
