Like most across the nations, my students have been quarantined, locked down, and Zoom fatigued to the point of apathy. My project gives a new and engaging way to socialize face to face, now that we can do so again. I want to challenge them to interact with each other in a variety of different ways. With the focus of these games to help socialize them, as well as introduce them to the production and understanding of narratives. These games make students take on new roles, cooperate, and communicate with each other. The table top and board games I have chosen are all designed to transcend just the competitive spirit that are instilled by most games. Each game encourages multiple ways of playing and new/different experiences for students to take part in each time. These collaborations will allow my students to participate in narrative creation, imagining and planning detailed worlds, and most importantly, finding their own voice. Overall, I want to show these students that literature and literacy at large are available to them through more avenues than just books. I want to show them that there are more ways to interact with each other. I want to have them learn, and play all while instilling in them confidence in their own voices and ideas.
