My students and I love to find and create new recipes, go on nature walks, make crafts, try new things, and do science experiments! I would love to have an iPad where I am able to take photos and videos of the students while they are working on these activities. I do not currently take photos or videos of the students on any of my personal devices to protect their identity and keep their information confidential. If I am able to take photos and videos, then I am able to send them to their parents/families, print them and put them up in the classroom, show the student a video or photo of themselves doing the activity, etc. I also enjoy being able to communicate with my students' families throughout the school day, and a classroom designated Ipad will give me the opportunity to use an application (ClassDojo, for example) to communicate with families outside of my school email, and without using my personal device to protect student's identity and remain confidential.
