Our library still uses the library cards that students write their names on in order to check out their library books. This project is for a book scanner! This will allow students and myself to keep track of books checked in and out of our school library as well as being able to quickly sanitize. Having a scanner, the students will be able to quickly check out their books so then they can start enjoying their books. Reading takes students to far away places and this tool helps them become successful in checking in and out their own books! By purchasing the barcode scanner, students will be able to check-out materials easily. This will familiarize the students with the process used in other libraries. Because we are so outdated, and a mobile society, students moving into our school have a hard time adjusting to the outdated system. With this system, students will not have to worry about stamping and writing their names on the cards.
