By offering flexible seating options, I hope to help my students gain their full learning potential in a classroom setting. An alternate seating option can be the difference maker in how a student learns, attends, completes their work, and functions in a classroom. A main focus in UDL (Universal Design for Learning) is offering students choices and materials to help meet their individual needs. One component can be flexible seating. By offering this simple option to choose alternate seating to complete work and attend, I am offering the students the chance to embrace learning and to figure out how they learn best.
