As the student support coordinator and special education teacher at my school, it is my job to support my students with their social emotional needs and growth. I plan to provide my students with the tools they need in order to overcome challenges and become in tune with their emotions and emotional needs by drawing on their interests through books and literature. Having a variety of texts to use in all situations will better prepare me to work with my students. I plan to use the books to start meaningful conversations and discussions as a way to connect to my students and build relationships within my classroom and my school.
