Through the use of these makerspace kits, my students can delve into the world of physics and engineering with step-by-step and easy to comprehend lessons and activities. In our world today, learning the mechanics behind robotics and how multiple parts work together to make electronic devices function properly is critical. We often wait to teach these skills until later in their schooling, but I feel passionately that these skills are vital for children to begin learning in their early years. When children understand these basic principles of engineering and mechanics, they will in turn be able to make their own ideas become a reality. Using these kits will promote critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity skills. Each kit can be used over and over for years to come and will help ignite new passions in the technology and robotics fields. With the rapid pace that technology is changing, I want to make sure that my students have every advantage I can give them early in their life. The more they understand now, the easier new technology will be for them to understand in the future.
