We will use the Calm Down Corner to help students learn how to self-soothe when they are feeling upset, angry, or overwhelmed. As they use the tools in the corner, they will be learning helpful tools that they can use in the classroom and at home as well. Students will explore and identify their emotions, how their emotions affect their physical bodies, and what the best tools are to help them calm down. As students learn what works best for themselves, they will begin to self-regulate and control how to respond to their emotions appropriately.
