During Covid it has been a challenge teaching music, as students are not to share instruments and some are not able to come to school. With the recorders, the students will be able to own an instrument that they can use to learn during school as well as at home. This will also give students who are virtual an opportunity to perform on instruments at home that they may not have access to. Performing together on the recorders will instill teamwork as they will learn to play in harmony and possibly in ensembles. Having the instrument will also give them an opportunity to practice and perfect their performance skills at home. In addition, the children learning the recorders, will prepare them to be able to play other wind instruments which will give them a foundation for middle and high school band and even the skills to obtain a scholarship for college.
