Research shows that over the summer students often regress in their reading levels. To combat the "summer slide", my school district Austin ISD has created a program called the 5 Book Dive challenge. Students are challenged to read at least 5 of the books from the various lists to help developing their reading growth. Our students particularly need access to books in Spanish to continue their language development as well as their love of reading. The materials in this project were selected as excellent reading materials for students to continue reading over the summer. Thank you for considering our project!

About my class
