This project is for equipment to help my students have a secure and private area to change their clothes to get ready for dance classes and performances. We currently do not have an area to change our clothes to prepare for dance class. My students will use this area to change into their dance attire to allow for freedom of movement, but we will also use this as a staging area for performances. Throughout the school year, my students develop an appreciation for dance as they are introduced to varied genres, such as ballet, modern, hip hop, etc. Daily activity takes place with a warm-up, movement across the floor, and combinations developing their technique and coordination. All focused on the final piece of performance before an audience; whereby they practice their dances daily. Dance class is constantly working on the fundamentals of dance, movement. and choreography with an emphasis on technique, creativity, and student-led instruction. This is why we need a secure and safe area to be able to dress; as there is nothing in place to change clothes privately.
