Student's in my classroom are highly sensitive to noise and are susceptible to distraction. Noise-canceling headphones, chair bands, and access to sensory items help keep them focused on their learning. With headphones, they are ready to be active participants in their learning because it diminishes the sounds and distractions around them. Chair bands are a great tool for them to release energy while still focusing on their desk work. Everyday access to these items will give my students the extra support they need to be successful. The other school supplies like markers, crayons, and laminating sheets, are to start and maintain the classroom supply of everyday items. Having these supplies will allow each student to have individual supplies.
