My students want to read books that they are interested in. They have been begging me for anime (manga) books. They love graphic novels. I am trying to replace the old outdated books with new graphic novels that will get my students interested in reading. I am a new librarian and I want to get them loving being in the library and loving reading again. I believe that getting this project funded will help my students fall in love with reading again. It is extremely important for me to instill a love of reading for my students. This is my goal as a librarian. I want to build a love a reading. In order to do that, I need to give them the books that they want to read. If I can not provide them with books that they want to read, I can not help them improve their reading skills.
