Some of my older students are recognizing that school gets more difficult to manage as they grow older. While some concentrate solely on their studies, others will enroll in after-school activities like ASES. Regardless of the path students take, most students will experience stress and/or anxiety. This includes elementary students. We plan on using the yoga mats and foam blocks outside in our Kindergarten courtyard in an effort to reduce stress and anxiety on the body. We want to give our students the keys to a quality life. The courtyard is filled with green soft grass, bushy trees, and natural sunlight making it the perfect place for yoga. We will aim at reducing tension in the body so that students have more energy and increase performance in their classrooms. If participation in ASES leads to an increase in daily school attendance like we've seen, then we expect similar success with our Yoga program.
