The seating I am requesting will provide my students with an opportunity to engage their bodies while focusing on reading. It will improve small group instruction by allowing them to focus on engaging their bodies instead of being distracted by activities that are going on in the room. Many children require the opportunity to move their bodies in order to concentrate and focus. I have taught literacy for the past 7 years, and this issue has become even more apparent during guided reading instruction. These seats will replace the flimsy metal stools that my students are constantly rocking on while at the teacher's table.
