As a special education teacher in the high school setting, I have seen how the learning environment can impact a student's ability to be successful. Many of my students are not able to focus in a classroom full of other students where they are expected to stay in their seats at their desks for 90 minute block periods. It is my goal to create a therapeutic learning space for my students with exceptionalities where they can move around if they need to or choose flexible seating arrangements. I want my students to be able to have a space that they can call their own, a space that is quiet and calming, where they can be comfortable, and they can have the resources they need in order to feel and be successful.

About my class
