My students are inspiring! They deal with issues that many adults never face in a lifetime. A majority of my students live in single parent households with an income less than $24,000. In addition, a great deal of students are being raised by a family member other than a biological parent. 90% of the students are African American and are on free or reduced lunch. They are challenged in so many ways, yet they continue to strive and amaze me each and every day.
