My students love coming to the library and being able to choose a book or two. Most classes begin with a story, and then a lesson that is tied in with the story. After this, it is time for the students to pick their books. During this time of book exchange, I would love for my students to have the option of reading their chosen book or having some hands-on time building and creating. These hands-on activities will also be useful for those students that have forgotten their books and are therefore unable to get a new book during class. I am hoping that the use of these materials in library class will help to create more fun and interactive learning environment for all students. Having these materials will help to draw in reluctant readers and those that are not a fan of books as these materials will give them another outlet for learning that they may find to be more enjoyable. It is my hope that these items will draw in all students and show them that libraries are not just a place for books, but that libraries are a place for imagination and creativity to grow!
