In Mrs. Rowlett's Learning Workshop, more than half of the students are from low-income families. My children are earger learners and appreciative of anything that they are given. The 9 x 12 rug will create a learning setting for students to kick back and enjoy a good book. My students love to read and they are able to see and feel places and things that they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to experience. It will also provide us a place to join together for cooperative learning situations. The standing teacher desk will allow me to utilize our classroom technology, such as document camera and laptop for Smart Board, while maintaining a position within our learning environment where students can see, hear and focus on detail in the lesson.
